Heat Genius – winners of the Innovation Award at the MEBC Annual Business Awards Dinner

The Heat Genius team is delighted to announce that we have won the Innovation Award at the MEBC Annual Business Celebration Awards Dinner held Wednesday, the 3rd of December, 2014.

The aim of the event was to celebrate local businesses in the area of West Midlands which are focused on the low carbon economy. The awards took place in the stunning Banqueting Hall of the Birmingham’s Council House and it was the perfect opportunity for local businesses to share ideas on energy efficiency and exchange opinions on the low carbon economy – in one word, the perfect occasion for networking.

The Innovation Category celebrates the low carbon initiative in the West Midlands region, businesses with high potential and a great desire for an increase in energy saving.

For the Innovation Award Heat Genius was shortlisted among three other companies. Our brand won the award due to the main feature which our system has, zoned heating control and smart occupancy detection and our work combating fuel poverty with the Accord Housing Group. This innovative feature can only be found on the Heat Genius Smart Heating Controller and the award received Wednesday evening gave a deserved credit to our brand.

The event was really engaging, with Simon Cocks, Managing Director from Severn Trent Water as Key Note Speaker, who talked to the audience about improving the local economy and the future development of suppliers as well as comedian Jo Enright, who entertained the event successfully with her humorous stories.

Alasdair Woodbridge, Heat Genius Co-founder and Managing Director said: “We are extremely pleased with winning the Innovation Award from MEBC. It shows that all our hard work on developing and delivering a product that not only reduces people’s heating bills but also reduces the carbon footprint, has paid off and it is starting to be recognised by major organisation such as MEBC.”

Okay, the answer to the last one is easy – only Heat Genius – but for all your other questions, here’s a handy comparison table we made using data from the excellent Recombu smart thermostat roundup:
